We are proud to announce the winners of the 2015 PBRart contest.  With over 600 amazing pieces of art flooding in from all across the country, selecting this year’s winners proved to be the most challenging year of the PBRart program to date.  It’s difficult to assess what best defines “PBRart” for we welcome all forms of art, that incorporate the PBR Logo.  The PBR Art contest offers the opportunity to submit any visual piece constructed of or inspired by Pabst Blue Ribbon in an attempt to capture the essence of the Pabst brand.  We accepted all types of art ranging from photography and Digital Media, to sculptures, paintings and drawings.

The 3 categories were Art Can, 2D, and 3D The top winners by category are as follows:

Art Can

Denton Burrows New York

A Well Oiled Desire Machine

The piece is a surreal representation of when you really want another PBR but the bar is so crowded that you wish you had a fresh one at all times brewed just for you by two identical endlessly efficient brewers floating above and connected to you. Mhmmm wouldn’t that be nice!

I’ve got to assume this is because I’m the only one who submitted my work on time.

Pabstalo

The beautiful skull that is supporting my Pabst Blue Ribbon art piece is that of a female Buffalo. I have always enjoyed working with skulls and I truly love to find a way to re-appreciate the life that it once belonged to. Buffalo may appear to be just like any other herd animal, but they possess great mobility, strength, speed and agility. Pabst Blue Ribbon beer may seem like any other American premium lager, but like the Buffalo it possesses characteristics greater than what first meets the eye. Pabst Blue Ribbon beer is crisp, refreshing, and light, but going beyond the first taste it is exciting, light-hearted, relaxing, compassionate to any moment in life and truly timeless. I decided to pair my passion for skull art with my love for PBR. Each can that was used for the project was previously drank and enjoyed by many wonderful friends. No beer was wasted! I hand selected parts of the can to create a design that would suit the skull itself, and in doing so I created a new hybrid herd animal, the original “Pabstalo.”
